赤穂緞通の文様『利剣文』を活版印刷した折形の木の花包み。和紙を使って贈り物を包む、武家の礼法の一つとして室町時代に誕生したといわれる折形。 長らくこの折形礼法は門外不出とされていましたが、江戸時代に伊勢貞丈の「包結図説」によって広く世の中に広まっていきました。木の花包みはこの図説に記 載されている折形です。本来水引は片わなに結びますが、末永いおつき合いの願いを込めて鮑結びにしています。大切な人への贈り物や、古材と組み合わせて玄 関や床の間に飾る花入れとして季節の花をお楽しみください。

‏‏A letterpress printed origata flower wrapping in the Riken-mon style from Ako Dantsu.Using Japanese washi paper to wrap gifts was a custom formed among Samurai families in the Muromachi period known as origata. It was a closely guarded technique for a long time until Sadatake Ise penned the ‘Houketsu Guide’, after which the technique spread throughout the art world. Flower wrapping is a form of origata mentioned in the above guide. The mizuhiki is usually tied in a half-knot, but to form a lasting relationship we have tied it in an awaji-knot.
