赤穂緞通の文様『利剣文』をモチーフに、「活版印刷」と「引箔」の職人が共演した美しくモダンな文箱。利剣文様はドイツのハイデルベルグ社製活版印 刷機で緻密な見当合わせをしながら金を2度刷りし、その後に引箔の伝統工芸士が漆塗り、金箔・プラチナ箔・色箔を丁寧に手貼りしてストライプ文様を表現し ています。機械と人間の手技が、相反することなく融合した新しい工芸品のカタチとなっています。

‏‏Letterpress craftsmen and hikibaku craftsmen have collaborated to create a beautiful, modern fubako, or letterbox, with Riken-mon motifs from Ako Dantsu’s pattern. The Riken-mon process begins with precise adjustments of a Heidelberg letterpress printer while overlaying gold leaf. Following this, a traditional craftsman applies lacquer and then carefully applies gold leaf, platinum leaf, and coloured foil to create a beautiful striped pattern.Machines and human skill work in harmony to bring you a new style of handcrafted goods.
